Real Madrid's pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe reportedly does not hinge on Zinedine Zidane's future in the Bernabeu dugout.

Real Madrid's pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe would not be hindered by Zinedine Zidane's possible exit from the Bernabeu, according to a report.

The much-coveted forward is believed to be Los Blancos' primary transfer target heading into the summer, with Mbappe reportedly against penning a new contract at PSG amid speculation over his long-term future.

The World Cup-winning Frenchman is under contract at the Parc des Princes until 2022 but has consistently been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool over the past few months.

However, Madrid boss Zidane is feeling the pressure after two losses to Cadiz and Shakhtar Donetsk, but according to Spanish outlet AS, a move for Mbappe could still be possible without Zidane in the dugout.

While Mbappe has openly admitted that Zidane was his first idol growing up, the report claims that the PSG forward is determined to secure a move to Real Madrid no matter who occupies the hotseat in the Spanish capital.

The former Monaco man already boasts four goals and four assists from as many Ligue 1 matches this term.
