Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius remains hopeful about his future at Anfield, with the German currently on loan at Turkish side Besiktas.

Liverpool's Loris Karius has revealed that he still keeps in contact with Jurgen Klopp during his loan spell at Besiktas, and the goalkeeper is optimistic about his future at Anfield.

Karius has not turned out for the Reds since the 2017-18 Champions League final, in which he made two costly mistakes as Real Madrid ran out 3-1 winners against Klopp's side.

The 26-year-old has spent the past two seasons at Besiktas following the arrival of Alisson Becker at Liverpool, but is being kept in the loop at his parent club while in Turkey.

Speaking to Sport Bild, Karius said: "I don't get involved in speculation. The fact is I have a contract at Liverpool until 2022.

"At the moment I'm just concentrating on the season at Besiktas. It's far too early to say anything about the summer, especially at the moment with no one knowing what exactly will happen because of coronavirus.

"I mainly message the goalkeeping coach John Achterberg - almost every week. He's my first point of contact. But now and then I also message Jurgen Klopp, I'm in touch with everyone. I've never been out of it."

Karius has kept eight clean sheets in 25 Super Lig matches this term.
