Liverpool are still reported to be tracking Burnley striker Danny Ings.
The 21-year-old has scored 20 goals for the Championship side this season, attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs, as well as Scottish champions Celtic.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers was first linked with a move for the England Under-21 international, who joined the Clarets from Bournemouth for a fee of £1m in 2011, last month.
According to the Daily Mail, the Lancashire club have set an £8m asking price, although they may be willing to do business at around £5m.
Rodgers is reportedly seeking back-up for first-choice pairing Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge with the Merseysiders competing at the top of the Premier League table.
Ings made his debut for the Young Lions in a 4–0 win at San Marino in October before going on to score twice in the reverse fixture in November.
