Liverpool have announced the signing of defender Mamadou Sakho from Paris Saint-Germain, making the Frenchman their second signing of the day so far.
The Merseyside outfit had been expected to secure Sakho's signature after he was spotted in the directors' box watching Liverpool clinch a 1-0 win over Manchester United at Anfield yesterday.
"I'm delighted to be here," Sakho told the club's official website. "I'd like to thank everyone for the welcome.
"I came here because the project that is in place at Liverpool interests me. I'm really looking forward to playing my first game."
The 23-year-old, who has put pen to paper on a long-term contract, has followed the signing of Tiago Ilori at Anfield, while Chelsea's Victor Moses is expected to complete a loan move today.
