Brendan Rodgers is reportedly looking to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, whom he managed at Swansea City.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to sign former Swansea City star Gylfi Sigurdsson, according to a report.

Sigurdsson joined Tottenham Hotspur in a £7m deal last year after a successful spell on loan at Swansea under Rodgers in the 2011-12 season.

However, the Icelandic midfielder has struggled to nail down a starting berth at White Hart Lane despite heralding the club's "ambition" on his arrival last summer, and Rodgers wants to be reunited with the 23-year-old.

Rodgers is looking to add more faces to the Liverpool squad, following the arrivals of Kolo Toure on a free transfer and Spanish striker Iago Aspas for £7.7m.
