Fulham are reportedly demanding as much as £7m in compensation from Liverpool for the deal which took 16-year-old Harvey Elliott to Anfield this summer.

Fulham are reportedly holding out for up to £7m in compensation from Liverpool for youngster Harvey Elliott.

The 16-year-old swapped Craven Cottage for Anfield in July and made his debut for the Reds during Wednesday's 2-0 EFL Cup win over MK Dons.

Manager Jurgen Klopp reserved special praise for the attacker, who hit the crossbar twice, after the game, but The Times reports that Fulham want a substantial compensation fee for the deal which took Elliott to Merseyside.

The England youth international cannot sign a professional contract until he is 17, meaning that Liverpool were able to sign him without paying a transfer fee during the summer.

However, there are rules in place to protect clubs from having their young players poached out of academies, and the Professional Football Compensation Committee is now expected to determine how much Fulham are owed for the deal.

Elliott made his debut for Fulham aged just 15 and went on to become the youngest player to ever play in the Premier League, aged 16 years and 30 days.
