Ezequiel Garay has reportedly emerged as an option for Liverpool as the Reds prepare to bring a new central defender to the club in light of Virgil van Dijk's serious knee injury.
Van Dijk is expected to miss the remainder of the 2020-21 campaign after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury during a challenge with Everton's Jordan Pickford in the Merseyside derby.
A number of players have already been linked with the Reds, but according to Fichajes, Argentina international Garay has now emerged as a possible arrival.
The 34-year-old is currently available on a free transfer, having left Valencia at the end of the 2019-20 campaign following the expiration of his deal.
The report claims that Garay, who has been capped on 32 occasions by Argentina, is open to signing a one-year contract with Jurgen Klopp's side and would not demand big wages.
The former Newell's Old Boys youngster has also played for Racing Santander, Real Madrid, Benfica and Zenit St Petersburg during his professional career, while he made 114 appearances for Valencia between 2016 and 2020.
