Liverpool edge closer to capturing Roma striker Fabio Borini as the Italian reportedly arrives in Merseyside to discuss personal terms and complete a medical.

Roma striker Fabio Borini has reportedly arrived in Merseyside to discuss personal terms and complete a medical with Liverpool.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a switch to Anfield in recent weeks, with reports claiming that both parties have agreed a £12m fee.

It is believed that the Italy international will discuss personal terms and carry out a medical today before finalising his move to the Reds, according to PA Sport.

Borini worked under Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers during his time at Chelsea between 2007 and 2009, as well as last season, where he spent a loan spell at Swansea City.
