Some bookmakers have slashed the odds on Newcastle United striker Demba Ba joining Liverpool this summer.
The 27-year-old recently went on record to calm speculation regarding his future by insisting that he was happy with life at the Sports Direct Arena.
However, the Magpies have since made a loan offer for Liverpool frontman Andy Carroll, who has been told by the Reds that he is currently not in the club's immediate plans.
While Liverpool rejected Newcastle's original offer, it has been claimed that they will accept a cash plus player offer for the England international.
As a result, the odds of Ba heading in the opposite direction to Carroll have been cut from 12/1 to 5/1.
Ba joined Newcastle last summer on a free transfer from West Ham United.
