Brendan Rodgers urges Simon Mignolet to be aggressive

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wants keeper Simon Mignolet to take command during his side's matches as they prepare to take on West Ham United in the Premier League.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has urged keeper Simon Mignolet to be more aggressive in his approach for his side's match against West Ham United.

The Belgium international has come in for criticism for his recent displays against Aston Villa and Ludogorets Razgrad, but Rodgers has revealed that he is content with the 26-year-old's performances at the moment.

When asked if he was looking for more from Mignolet, Rodgers told reporters: "I wouldn't tell you if I was.

"I think he's a bit laid-back type of person in his personality. But I think he's aggressive. He's our number one keeper, he's got plenty of experience. He just continues to work on that relationship with the back four and deal with that.

"I think the key thing, and the message to all the players in that situation, is make sure you are on the front foot. Be aggressive, don't wait for it."

Liverpool face West Ham in their Premier League clash at Upton Park later today.
