Brendan Rodgers has said that the assistant referee was right to allow Christian Benteke's goal against Bournemouth on Tuesday.
Benteke scored the only goal of the game in the 26th minute but the Premier League later said that the goal should have been disallowed.
"The linesman has made an excellent decision," Rodgers told Sky Sports News. "He is assessing very quickly that they may have been an attempt, but there's no way Philippe Coutinho will get to the ball and you can see that, though he's in an offside position.
"The ball gets whipped in, goes towards the back post and the goalkeeper has made a slight movement, but I don't think the movement has really affected him. I think it's the quality of the ball in, the athleticism and the touch in the finish that has made it difficult."
Benteke signed for Liverpool for a fee of around £32m.
