Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers admits confidence is 'dented' after recent losses

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers admits that the team's confidence has been 'dented' following recent defeats.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that confidence has been 'dented' following defeats that have hampered the club's campaign to qualify for the Champions League.

In their last five games, the Reds have suffered losses to Manchester United, Arsenal and Hull City, which has left them seven points adrift of fourth-placed United with four games left to play.

Despite the unlikelihood of finishing in the Champions League spots, Rodgers has not given up hope as the team prepare to face Queens Park Rangers on Saturday at Anfield.

"It would be a disappointment [not to finish in the top four], but it's never over until the final whistle blows," Rodgers told reporters in this morning's press conference.

"We have to keep working to the end. When I cam to Liverpool I knew how the model works. We won 10 out of 13 and confidence was high. In a couple of big games we fell shortly and that can dent your confidence."

Rodgers will end his third year as Liverpool manager without a trophy.
