Liverpool match a Premier League winning record first set by Manchester City with Saturday's 2-0 victory over Watford at Anfield.

Liverpool have equalled a Premier League winning feat first set by Manchester City with Saturday's 2-0 win over Watford at Anfield.

The Reds were made to work for their chances versus a dogged Hornets defence but made the breakthrough when Diogo Jota met Joe Gomez's cross in the first half.

A frustrating second 45 soon followed for Jurgen Klopp, but his side went two goals to the good late on after Jota was brought down in the box by Juraj Kucka, and Fabinho stepped up to smash home the spot kick.

Victory over Watford marked Liverpool's 10th on the bounce in the top flight, and the Merseyside club have now strung such a run together five times in the tournament's history.

Only Man City have done so before - with Pep Guardiola steering them to four of those double-figure streaks - as Klopp celebrated his 250th Premier League match as a manager in style.

Liverpool have temporarily moved two points clear of the reigning champions in the table as Guardiola's side take on Burnley.
