Jurgen Klopp unhappy with Liverpool performance

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits that his side were far short of their best during the 2-0 defeat to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that his side were nowhere near their best during their 2-0 defeat to Leicester City this evening.

The Reds failed to force Kasper Schmeichel into a meaningful save throughout the encounter at the King Power Stadium as two goals from Jamie Vardy kept the Foxes top of the table.

Klopp acknowledged that his side did not deserve anything from the game, and praised the quality of Vardy's stunning opening strike.

"I'm not too fine with our game today. We could have played much better," he told BBC Sport.

"We had a few shots where we could pass and a few passes where we could shoot. We created half chances but not real chances. It was a world-class goal from Jamie Vardy.

"Today would have been a good day to show we are ready for this. I need a few more seconds to calm down. I have to watch it again."

The defeat leaves Liverpool now 11 points adrift of the Champions League places.
