Jordan Henderson: Joao Teixeira is an "exciting prospect"

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson talks up Joao Teixeira after the Portuguese youngster made his debut against Fulham.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has hailed Joao Teixeira as an "exciting prospect" after the Portuguese youngster made his debut for the Reds on Wednesday.

The playmaking Teixeira replaced Raheem Sterling as Brendan Rodgers's side beat Fulham 3-2 at Craven Cottage.

"Joao has been brilliant in training since he has come up," Henderson told the Liverpool Echo.

"He has been working really hard. He has fantastic ability on the ball and I thought he did really well after he came on.

"We've got some great young players here and he's an exciting prospect for the future."

The victory takes the Reds to within four points of leaders Chelsea in the Premier League.
