Steven Gerrard thanks Luis Suarez

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard thanks former teammate Luis Suarez, after the Barcelona striker was awarded with the Golden Shoe on Wednesday evening.

Steven Gerrard has thanked Luis Suarez for his exploits for Liverpool last season.

Suarez was presented with the Golden Shoe by Reds legend Kenny Dalglish at an awards ceremony on Wednesday evening in recognition for plundering 31 goals for the club last season.

In a video message recorded by Gerrard and played at the event, the former England skipper said: "Good luck for the future, mate, we wish you well.

"Thanks for everything you did last season for us. Barcelona are very lucky to have you."

Suarez's ban for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup ends later this month.
