Roberto Firmino's record vs. Everton

Sports Mole takes a closer look at Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino's record against Everton ahead of Saturday's Merseyside derby clash.

Liverpool will look to continue building momentum when they face Merseyside rivals Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds are on a real high following their famous victory over Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday night, making it seven wins in their last nine outings.

Star man Mohamed Salah limped off at Anfield, though, and is now expected to sit out this showdown with Everton, putting extra pressure on Roberto Firmino through the middle.

Here, Sports Mole looks at Firmino's record against the Toffees in past encounters.

The Brazilian forward may have 22 goals to his name in all competitions this term, but he has fired blanks in both meetings with Everton.

One of those was in a 1-1 league draw at Goodison Park in December, when surprisingly being left on the bench until the final quarter of the game, and most recently in the 2-1 FA Cup win three months ago - a match marred by accusations of racial abuse aimed at Mason Holgate.

In fact, the 26-year-old has never previously scored in this fixture in five attempts, although he does appear to be a lucky charm for Liverpool as they have not lost any of those matches.

Firmino's only direct involvement in a goal came in the Reds' 3-1 triumph at Anfield last season, as he exchanged passes with Sadio Mane for his teammate to open the scoring.
