Lincoln's form in 2024 has been excellent, with the Imps currently on an 11-game unbeaten run in the third tier of English football, recording six wins in the process.

Michael Skubala's side have won four of their last five in the league, including a 5-1 victory at fifth-placed Barnsley on Saturday afternoon, which certainly sent out a message to the rest of the division.

Lincoln are currently ninth in the table, boasting 55 points from their 37 matches, which has left them six points behind sixth-placed Stevenage entering the business end of the campaign.

The Imps have picked up 28 points from their 18 home league games this term, while they are unbeaten in front of their own supporters in the third tier of English football since the end of last year.

Lincoln will be looking to make it a league double over Cambridge this season, having recorded a 3-0 victory when the two teams locked horns for the reverse match last November.

Cambridge, meanwhile, will enter this match off the back of a 1-1 draw with Northampton Town on Saturday afternoon, which brought to an end a four-game losing run in the third tier.

The team's form at this stage of the season is concerning, losing six of their last eight, which has seen them drop into 19th position in the table, picking up 39 points from 36 matches.

Garry Monk's side are only five points clear of the relegation zone, and they have another four games to come before the end of the month against Lincoln, Reading, Wycombe Wanderers and Barnsley.

Cambridge have really struggled on their travels this season, only picking up 13 points from 17 matches, recording just three victories in the process, which is the third-worst record in the third tier.

The visitors have not managed to triumph in League One since the middle of February, which proved to be a 4-0 success at basement side Carlisle United.

Team News

Lincoln have no fresh fitness concerns from their clash with Barnsley on Saturday, and it is expected to be close to the same XI for Tuesday's clash with Cambridge.

However, there is likely to be a change in the final third, with Jack Moylan coming off the bench to score twice last time out, and he is now set for a starting role on Tuesday night.

Lincoln should again line up in a 3-4-3 formation, with Ben House set to retain his spot in the side despite Jovon Makama netting off the bench at the weekend.

As for Cambridge, head coach Monk is expected to name the same XI that drew with Northampton on Saturday.

Elias Kachunga netted his fifth league goal of the campaign to secure a point last time out, and the 31-year-old is set to again be joined by Lyle Taylor in the final third of the field.

Sullay Kaikai and Macauley Bonne are among the options for change, but it seems likely that the pair will again be among the substitutes for the first whistle on Tuesday.

Lincoln City possible starting lineup:
Jensen; Mitchell, O'Connor, Roughan; Sorensen, Mandroiu, Erhahon, Hackett; House; Taylor, Moylan

Cambridge United possible starting lineup:
Stevens; L Bennett, R Bennett, Morrison, Andrew; Lankester, Cousins, Digby, Brophy; Taylor, Kachunga
