Jordan Veretout to choose Aston Villa over Leicester City

Jordan Veretout is close to agreeing a deal with Aston Villa despite Leicester City's late bid, Nantes president Waldemar Kita reveals.

Nantes president Waldemar Kita has confirmed that he intends to sell Jordan Veretout to Aston Villa, despite a better offer from Leicester City.

According to reports in France, the Foxes offered €5m (£3.5m) more than Villa but the player has decided that he would prefer a move to the Birmingham-based club.

Kita told L'Equipe: "He has made his choice, and I am going to go in his direction. I'm set to lose €5m. I am a pillock."

The 22-year-old is a French under-21 international, scoring seven goals and creating five assists in Ligue 1 last season.
