Harry Maguire deal 'has no release clause'

Harry Maguire's new five-year contract with Leicester City does not include a release clause, according to a report.

Harry Maguire's new contract with Leicester City reportedly does not include a release clause, placing the Foxes in a strong position when it comes to keeping hold of the central defender.

Maguire's performances for England at the 2018 World Cup led to speculation that Manchester United were desperate to sign him during the summer transfer window.

Leicester managed to keep hold of the former Sheffield United youngster, however, and he signed a new five-year contract at the King Power Stadium earlier this month.

According to Sky Sports News, there is no release clause in the defender's new deal, leaving Leicester firmly in control when it comes to his future at the club.

The 25-year-old joined Leicester from Hull City in the summer of 2017, and impressed for the Foxes during the 2017-18 campaign before playing a key role in England's charge to the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup.
