Sunderland defender Matt Kilgallon is reportedly expected to snub Leeds United in favour of staying at the Stadium of Light.

Leeds United have reportedly been dealt a blow in their quest to bring back Sunderland defender Matt Kilgallon to the club.

The Whites manager Neil Warnock is believed to be keen on signing the 28-year-old, who came through the ranks at Elland Road before moving to Sheffield United in 2007.

Despite the Championship club's interest, it is understood that Kilgallon is determined to fight for his place with the Black Cats, according to the Daily Star.

This may convince Leeds to abandon their hopes of re-signing the defender, who has been at the Stadium of Light since 2010.
