Massimo Cellino considering Leeds United future

Massimo Cellino says that being in charge of Leeds United is "killing" him due to a number of issues since taking the Elland Road helm.

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has hinted that he could be ready to walk away from the club following a "nightmare" spell in charge.

The latest setback facing the Whites' controversial chief came last week when he was handed a Football League ban as a result of failing its owners' and directors' test.

Supporters once more vented their anger at the Italian on Thursday night as their winless home run stretched to a 12th game, with Blackburn Rovers claiming a 2-0 win in West Yorkshire.

Speaking to The Times, Cellino claimed that he is struggling to sleep at night due to the ongoing problems, with another tax conviction in his homeland also weighing heavily on his mind.

"I'm losing my balls," he said. "Ten years ago, I had more balls, but since I came here it's been a nightmare. Now I have a low quality of life.

"I feel shame when I walk to the shop to buy cigarettes if we lose a game. I convinced my family to come here and they have run away.

"It's like being at a party where you're not welcome. It's killing me. Every night I lie awake, asking myself, 'Am I good enough?'."

Leeds United Supporters' Trust recently called for Cellino to sell his stake in the club, having already sacked five managers during his time at Elland Road.
