Leicester City claim a 3-1 win over Leeds United in Tuesday night's EFL Cup fourth-round encounter at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City have reached the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup thanks to a 3-1 win over Leeds United in Tuesday night's fourth-round encounter at the King Power Stadium.

The visitors took the lead on 26 minutes when Pablo Hernandez picked the ball up 25 yards out, weaved through a number of Foxes defenders and curled an effort into the top corner of the net.

Four minutes later, however, Michael Appleton's charges were level as Leeds goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald challenged Islam Slimani in the box and the loose ball fell to Kelechi Iheanacho, who duly rifled home.

Leicester came close to edging ahead on the stroke of half time, but Demarai Gray's ferocious effort from 25 yards out rattled off the crossbar.

The hosts continued to press and were able to take the lead on 71 minutes when Iheanacho picked up the ball down the left and set up fellow striker Islam Slimani for a tap-in from a yard out.

The game was put beyond the reach of the Championship side two minutes from time, Riyad Mahrez cutting in from the right onto his left foot and powering a low finish into the bottom corner of the net.
