Garry Monk: 'I didn't watch penalty shootout'

Leeds United boss Garry Monk says that he did not watch his side's penalty-shootout win over Norwich City in the EFL Cup.

Leeds United boss Garry Monk has revealed that he refused to watch his side's penalty shootout against Norwich City on Tuesday night.

After the EFL Cup tie ended 2-2 after extra time, the Yorkshire giants prevailed by a 3-2 scoreline as Marco Silvestri made three saves to deny the Canaries.

The 37-year-old told BBC Radio Leeds: "I didn't watch the penalties. I didn't watch them as a player either.

"I got told [goalkeeper] Marco Silvestri had made three very good saves but it's hard to single out one player after a night like that."

The Championship club will discover their quarter-final opponents when the draw is made on Wednesday evening.
