Fiorentina comeback stuns Juventus

Fiorentina come from two goals down to beat Juventus 4-2 thanks to a hat-trick from Giuseppe Rossi.

Fiorentina have come from two goals down to beat Juventus 4-2 in Tuscany this afternoon, with Giuseppe Rossi's hat-trick helping the hosts produce an incredible turnaround.

The Bianconeri looked in complete control after profiting from defensive errors in a scrappy first half, which saw Fiorentina lose midfield anchor Massimo Ambrosini through injury.

Both sides struggled to create clear-cut opportunities until Juve were gifted a penalty eight minutes before the break, after Carlos Tevez was brought down in the box by Gonzalo Rodriguez.

Tevez got up to slam his spot kick down the middle, breaking the deadlock with his fourth goal in eight Serie A games.

Just two minutes later Juve took complete control in Tuscany after a calamity of errors in the Fiorentina defence.

Juan Cuadrado was culpable after rushing into his own box with an attempted clearance, which scooped across goal into the path of Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman made no mistake from close range, leaving La Viola boss Vincenzo Montella ruing Ambrosini's early exit after a frustrating first half.

Fiorentina responded positively after the interval and were given a lifeline early in the second half, with Kwadwo Asamoah clipping Matias Fernandez inside the penalty area.

Rossi kept his calm to reduce the deficit, setting up a grandstand finish in Florence.

Soon after Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon was caught out by Rossi's strike from 25 yards, with a low effort dipping under his body and into the far corner.

There was time for more drama as Joaquin Sanchez put the hosts ahead just a minute later, given space to beat Buffon at his near post from 12 yards.

With Juve forced to chase the game La Viola caught the visitors cold to seal a memorable win nine minutes from time.

Cuadrado used his pace to lead a swift counter before switching inside to Rossi, who calmly curled into the top corner to complete his hat-trick and Fiorentina's first home win against Juventus in 15 years.
