Massimiliano Allegri hopeful over injured duo

Massimiliano Allegri is unconcerned that Juventus could be without Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal for their title clash against Serie A rivals Roma.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is confident that Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal will be able to play in their crucial Serie A match against Roma on Monday evening.

Andrea Pirlo has already been ruled out for the next three weeks with an ankle injury, while fellow midfielder Vidal and Pogba have been dealing with their own problems which could see them miss the crucial trip to the Stadio Olimpico.

"The first order of the day was a question on the fitness levels of Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal, seeing as Andrea Pirlo is already ruled out," Allegri is quoted as saying by Football Italia. "They are doing fairly well and I'll evaluate them in today's training session.

"Pogba has an inflammation in his thigh muscle, while Vidal has a bruise to the back. If they are in good shape, then they will play, otherwise we have those who can replace them. There are Claudio Marchisio, Stefano Sturaro, Simone Padoin and Roberto Pereyra.

"We could even decide to play with only two midfielders. This is only one game and I don't want to risk losing someone for a month. We've already lost Pirlo, it would be stupid to risk another."

Juventus are currently nine points clear of Roma at the top of the Serie A table.
