Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly close to securing the services of Ipswich Town striker Michael Chopra.
The 29-year-old's two-year spell at Portman Road has been blighted by a series of off-the-pitch problems, which in turn saw manager Mick McCarthy place him on the transfer list at the end of last season.
He had been linked with a host of clubs both in England and abroad, but having been given the squad number 28, it appeared that he could remain with the Tractor Boys.
However, Wednesday manager Dave Jones, who worked with the centre-forward at Cardiff City, made his interest known over the weekend and talks are now at an advanced stage, according to the East Anglian Daily Times.
It is believed that Chopra turned down a move to Barnsley last week.
