Ipswich Town keeper Dean Gerken out for a month with shoulder injury

Ipswich Town announce that goalkeeper Dean Gerken will be out for at least a month after partially tearing a shoulder ligament at Birmingham City.

Ipswich Town goalkeeper Dean Gerken has been ruled out for at least a month with a shoulder ligament injury.

The 30-year-old suffered the problem in the latter stages of Saturday's 3-0 Championship defeat at Birmingham City.

Blues physio Matt Byard told the club website: "Gerks has seen a specialist in London and had a scan and he has suffered a partially torn ligament in his right shoulder.

"He will be reviewed again in two weeks and we are looking at a return at the earliest in four weeks if there are no setbacks in that time. It could be longer."

With Gerken out, Bartosz Bialkowski will be in betwen the sticks for Ipswich's next match at home to Reading on Tuesday.
