Hull City secure 2-0 win against York City in pre-season friendly

Hull City triumph in their pre-season clash with York City thanks to goals from Sone Aluko and Yannick Sagbo.

Steve Bruce's side scored twice in the second half to secure a 2-0 win against York City at Bootham Crescent this evening.

After a slow first half in which neither side threatened to break the deadlock, substitute Sone Aluko put Hull ahead on 50 minutes with a long-range effort.

Fellow substitutes Tom Huddlestone, Jake Livermore and Thomas Ince all impressed as the second half wore on, taking control of the game as Hull City's Premier League quality began to show.

However, it was a defensive mistake that allowed Yannick Sagbo to nip in and double Hull City's lead on 76 minutes.
