Steve Bruce rules out Newcastle job

Hull boss Steve Bruce says that he is "very, very happy" with the Tigers amid speculation linking him to the Newcastle United job.

Steve Bruce has distanced himself from the speculation linking him with the Newcastle United job by stating that he is "very, very happy" with Hull City.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is thought to be on borrowed time as the winless Magpies sit bottom of the Premier League table with two points.

Bruce takes the Tigers to the North-East to face United this afternoon, but the 54-year-old has shrugged off suggestions that visits to St James' Park could be a regular thing for him.

"I am happy here. Two weeks ago, I brought in four players. I've brought in another five during the summer," he the Hull Daily Mail.

"We're in a good place at the moment. We're still a work in progress. We've got to work on the squad, the infrastructure, the academy and all those things.

"I'm very, very happy doing what I'm doing. That's the way it is."

This afternoon's clash gets underway at 3pm.
