Half-Time Report: Nahki Wells strikes for Huddersfield Town

Nahki Wells's goal is the difference between Huddersfield Town and Blackburn Rovers at half time.

Huddersfield Town lead Blackburn Rovers at half time thanks to a goal from Nahki Wells.

Jordan Rhodes hammered an early free kick into the wall as the visitors started brightly, before Huddersfield came within inches of taking the lead.

Sean Scannell burst forward and won his side a corner, which was headed goalwards by Mark Hudson, only for a Blackburn body to hammer the ball off the line.

However, the hosts were ahead just minutes later when Wells hammered home from close range after Ishmael Miller's effort had been saved by David Raya.

Blackburn could have been level when Craig Conway met Modou Barrow's low cross after a swift break, but the midfielder could only poke his effort narrowly wide.

Rhodes almost levelled the tie just before half time when he was sent clear, but Joe Murphy was equal to his effort.
