Preview: Hibernian vs. Livingston - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Scottish Premiership clash between Hibernian and Livingston, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

After consecutive games without a victory, Hibernian will attempt to get back to winning ways when they host Livingston on Saturday.

The visitors are currently bottom of the Scottish Premiership, with pressure mounting on the team to start picking up points should they wish to avoid relegation.

Hibernian are currently in mid-table after a season of inconsistency, which has been summed up in their previous six games where they have drawn three, won two and lost once.

That defeat took place in the Scottish Cup, meaning the Hibees have not lost a league game in their previous five outings, but they will now be looking to secure more points in a bid to make a push for a top-half finish.

Nick Montgomery's men were held to a 2-2 draw against Ross County during their most recent outing in a game that will have left the team frustrated after conceding a 98th-minute equaliser.

The Hibees will be aiming to put that result behind them quickly, especially as they attempt to improve their home form, which has been weaker than their away form this season.

However, there has not been much to separate these two teams so far this season as they have each taken three points from the other in games where one goal has been the difference maker.

While Livingston fell short the last time they met in a 1-0 defeat, they did secure three points at the start of the season by coming out on top of a five-goal thriller.

However, the Lions have now gone four games in a row without a win, and that has led to the pressure increasing massively on the team as time begins to run out in their bid to secure their top-flight status.

The club has opted to stick with David Martindale throughout this period, but Livingston are currently seven points behind Ross County in the relegation playoff position and 10 away from guaranteed safety.

The Lions will need to start securing points before time runs out, and tightening things up at the back could play a big part in that as they have let in 49 goals already.

Livingston might have beaten Hibernian at Easter Road at the start of the season, but that is the only away victory they have managed all season, showcasing the pressure they have felt on the road.

Team News

Nathan Moriah-Welsh will be available for selection once again this weekend for Montgomery to consider after his suspension comes to an end.

Jair Tavares, Dylan Vente and Lewis Miller were all missing recently due to illness, therefore they will be questionable this time around if they can recover.

Hibernian do have several players unavailable due to injury as well, with Luke Amos, Martin Boyle, Josh Campbell and Jake Doyle-Hayes all on the sidelines this weekend.

Tete Yengi continues to be the main attacking threat for the visitors, and after finding the back of the net against Celtic in Livingston's last outing, he should lead the line again this time around.

Hibernian possible starting lineup:
Marshall; Miller, Fish, Hanlon, Obita; Youan, Levitt, Jeggo, Tavares; Doidge, Boyle

Livingston possible starting lineup:
George; Nottingham, Obileye, Devlin, Kelly; Holt, Carson; Mackay, Shinnie, Montano; Yengi

We say: Hibernian 2-0 Livingston

Livingston have been under a lot of pressure throughout this season and the poor form that they are dealing with on the road is likely going to make this a tough task for them.

Hibernian have been looking to get some consistent results and after two games without a win, this will likely be seen as an ideal match to change their fortunes.
