The 2-0 defeat on Sunday followed a similar result to the Bhoys last Wednesday.

St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright insists he will not let back-to-back defeats to Celtic put the dampener on his side's season.

The Perth side battled bravely against Brendan Rodgers' champions for 78 minutes on Sunday before being caught out with two late blows as they slumped to a 2-0 loss.

That setback at home followed a similar two-goal Parkhead loss last Wednesday but Wright is more than pleased with his side's form.

A loss to Hearts last weekend followed a run of four straight wins that had taken Saints into the Ladbrokes Premiership top six and the last 16 of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

And Wright is determined his side get back on a winning path when they head to Hamilton on Wednesday night.

"I think we were much better on Sunday," he told the St Johnstone website. "We said we had to be better on the ball and I think we definitely improved in that aspect.

"We had two or three clear opportunities to score and in the end we were punished for our own mistakes.

"We can take positives out of the match but ultimately at the end of the day it's a defeat.

"However we're not going to let two defeats against the best team in the country affect how we're feeling about our season. We've got to leave both games behind us and our attention is now firmly focused on Hamilton tomorrow."
