Germany assistant coach Thomas Schneider has suggested that Joachim Low has not yet decided who will start at centre-forward in Sunday's Euro 2016 last-16 clash with Slovakia.
Mario Gotze was selected as the lone frontman for Germany's first two group matches, but Mario Gomez started and scored against Northern Ireland last time out.
Leroy Sane is also capable of playing through the middle, and Schneider has admitted that it is "complex" to say who will be selected at the tip of the attack.
"It's a little more complex [to say who will play]. Mario Gomez is a player who likes to go in the box and comes from the last row of the defence," Schneider told reporters.
"Mario Gotze is someone who can move in small spaces and who can also attract several players. One could see that they can also play together. We have a lot of options there."
Germany topped Group C courtesy of a superior goal difference to Poland.
