Genoa defender Alassane Tambe is sidelined for at least six weeks after fracturing his ankle in training.

Genoa defender Alassane Tambe has been ruled out of action for at least six weeks with a fractured ankle.

The 23-year-old suffered the problem during the club's first training session of pre-season.

Former France Under-20 international Tambe is due to undergo surgery on Wednesday.

Genoa finished last season in sixth place in the Serie A table, 10 points adrift of the top three.
