Dimitar Berbatov seeking January Fulham exit?

Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov reportedly wants to leave the Premier League strugglers in January, despite the appointment of Rene Meulensteen as manager.

Dimitar Berbatov is believed to be desperate to leave Fulham in January, despite new boss Rene Meulensteen claiming that he will get the best out of the Bulgarian.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United forward Berbatov has scored just once in the Premier League in a poor start to the season which has seen Martin Jol sacked as Cottagers manager.

His replacement Meulensteen worked with Berbatov while he was a coach at Old Trafford, and has promised to get the 32-year-old, who scored 15 goals last season after arriving from United, firing again.

However, The Mirror reports that the striker does not want to spend the rest of the season battling relegation and is hoping to leave 18th-placed Fulham when the transfer window reopens.

Turkish outfit Trabzonspor have already admitted their desire to sign Berbatov, whose Craven Cottage contract expires at the end of the season.
