Norwegian full-back John Arne Riise is excited about the prospect of a clean slate at Fulham following the departure of manager Martin Jol.
Riise had fallen out of favour at Craven Cottage under the Dutchman, who was sacked on Sunday, and has not started a Premier League game since August.
However, with Jol's compatriot Rene Meulensteen now in charge, Riise is hoping for a chance to return to a Whites defence that has conceded 18 goals in their last six matches in all competitions.
He told TV2: "It will be an exciting week. I feel that I am in good shape and I am ready in case the new manager wants me to play.
"We have struggled defensively in the last few matches, now I will give everything in training as usual and hope to get more confidence."
A run of five consecutive top-flight defeats led to Jol's firing and left the Cottagers in the relegation zone ahead of their home match with Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening.
