Fernando Amorebieta targets nine points

Fulham defender Fernando Amorebieta says that the club's players owe it to the fans to win their remaining three Premier League games.

Fulham centre-back Fernando Amorebieta has insisted that the Whites must look to take all nine points available from their final three games of the season if they are to escape the drop from the Premier League.

Amorebieta said that the players owe it to the fans to put the poor season so far behind them and give everything they have in the final three matches, starting against Hull City on Saturday.

"We need to be looking at ourselves and what we can do in the final three matches," Amorebieta told the club's official website. "The aim is to win them all; I think nine points will be enough.

"So it's a very simple process for us, it's all about what we do, not what happens with the likes of Sunderland, Cardiff City, Norwich City or West Bromwich Albion.

"It's been a tough season and we know we should have done better. But it's our chance to put a few things right now, and do all we can to ensure Fulham are in the Premier League next season. I know I haven't been here very long, but I'm a player that gives everything I have."

Fulham are currently 19th, two points behind 17th-placed Norwich.
