Ruiz: 'Fulham not reliant on Berbatov'

Fulham's Bryan Ruiz is adamant that the Whites do not solely rely on Dimitar Berbatov.

Bryan Ruiz has insisted that Fulham have not been carried by Dimitar Berbatov this season.

Bulgarian striker Berbatov has scored 11 goals this year - the latest of which came during yesterday's 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

Despite admitting that Berbatov is a "good player", Ruiz has claimed that the former Manchester United centre-forward has received a lot of help from his teammates.

"People talk a lot about Berbatov, he is a good player, but all the team is doing well, playing well behind him, and that is one thing he cannot do on his own," Ruiz told Sky Sports News.

"It is great to play with him. But it is about teamwork. We showed that against Tottenham when we defended very well. Berbatov's best quality is not to defend, so all the players did a great job and also used the qualities that he has."

Berbatov has made 26 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign.
