Jeremy Menez issues an apology for the behaviour during Euro 2012 that led to him being investigated by the French Football Federation.

Jeremy Menez has said that he is sincerely sorry for his conduct during France's disappointing Euro 2012 campaign.

The 25-year-old was accused of insulting the referee and rowing with his captain Hugo Lloris during France's quarter-final defeat to Spain.

Menez will appear at a disciplinary meeting on Friday to explain his conduct during the tournament.

He told L'Equipe: "I sent a letter of apology [to the FFF]. I apologised for my absence and for the accusations made against me. I am eager to turn the page.

"It's annoying to have to face the committee, it is not good for the image. But I am making, and will make, efforts to improve myself every day. I want to apologise sincerely, it was an incident that should not have happened."

The French Football Federation is still investigating a number of players for their behaviour during the tournament, including Menez, Samir Nasri and Yaan M'Vila.
