Everton reportedly cool their interest in Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles.

Everton have reportedly cooled their interest in Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles.

The Toffees have been linked with a move for the Englishman, as manager Marco Silva begins a reshuffle of his team at Goodison Park.

According to the Newcastle Chronicle, however, Everton director of football Marcel Brands is instead keen signing a new left-back.

The newspaper adds that Brands and Silva want to replace 33-year-old Leighton Baines before searching for a new central defender.

Lascelles scored three goals in 33 Premier League appearances for Newcastle last season.
