Michael Keane: 'Everton players have let Ronald Koeman down'

Michael Keane insists that Everton's players are "working really hard" to get their campaign back on track, throwing his weight behind Ronald Koeman to remain in charge.

Everton defender Michael Keane has insisted that he and his teammates "have 100% belief" in manager Ronald Koeman, as the pressure continues to mount on the Dutchman.

Arsenal piled more misery on the Toffees by coming out on top 5-2 in Sunday afternoon's Premier League showdown at Goodison Park, inflicting a seventh defeat in 13 outings on their opponents.

Koeman is odds-on favourite to be the next top-flight manager sacked, having seen his side drop into the relegation zone this weekend, but one of his summer signings believes that it is down to the players to get Everton out of trouble.

"I think [we are drained of confidence]. Normally everyone would want to get on the ball and show what they can do," Keane told Sky Sports News. "Maybe you're not seeing that now. It was a difficult day.

"It's down to us, the manager can only do so much. We have 100% belief in him. We feel like we've let him down. We're working really hard to sort it out."

Everton, who have won just one league game since the opening weekend of the season, take on Leicester City and Watford in their next two top-flight games.
