Everton manager Ronald Koeman has claimed that new signing Idrissa Gueye will provide "quality" to the team's midfield.
The Senegal international signed a four-year deal with the Toffees today after completing a transfer from Aston Villa.
The 26-year-old, who is believed to have cost Everton £7.1m, spent one season at Villa Park, but failed to help the team retain their Premier League status.
"Idrissa will provide quality in our squad in the midfield and we want to increase the quality in the team," Koeman told the club's official website. "He was one of the players last season with the best record in interceptions and pressing in the midfield. We need this kind of quality and I'm happy to have him joining our club."
Gueye is Koeman's second signing of the summer following the arrival of goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg.
