Everton captain Phil Jagielka admits that the squad is feeling uncertain following Roberto Martinez's appointment as manager.

Everton captain Phil Jagielka has admitted that there is "uncertainty" in the squad following Roberto Martinez's appointment as manager.

Martinez was unveiled as the new boss at Goodison Park on Wednesday following the departure of David Moyes to Manchester United.

"There is a bit of uncertainty amongst the lads," Goal.com quotes Jagielka as saying.

"You never quite know if you're the new manager's type of player, but he mentioned me as his captain when he spoke to the press, so that was nice to hear.

"I don't know a great deal about the gaffer, but whenever our paths have crossed he always seems to be a really nice guy."

Jagielka recently confirmed that he would not be leaving the club this summer amid rumours that he could join former boss Moyes at Old Trafford.
