Everton reveal that Spaniard Roberto Martinez is their new manager on a four-year contract.

Roberto Martinez has signed a four-year contract to become the next manager of Everton.

The 39-year-old has been in talks with Everton chairman Bill Kenwright ever since he was granted permission to do so by Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan last week.

He took charge of Wigan back in 2009, but having failed to keep them in the Premier League last term, the Spaniard decided that he could not take the club any further, despite the fact that he guided them to success in the FA Cup.

It is expected that Martinez will speak to the media at a Goodison Park press conference later today.
