Seamus Coleman ruled out of FA Cup semi-final

Everton will be without hamstring victim Seamus Coleman for their FA Cup semi-final match, while John Stones, Phil Jagielka and Gareth Barry are also doubts.

Everton defender Seamus Coleman has been ruled out of Saturday's FA Cup semi-final meeting against Manchester United due to injury.

The 27-year-old had been a major doubt after damaging his hamstring in the recent 1-1 draw with Southampton.

Roberto Martinez has now revealed that Coleman will not be given the all-clear in time to feature at Wembley, while concerns remain over the fitness of Phil Jagielka, John Stones and Gareth Barry.

Under-fire boss Martinez is confident of having Stones back for the weekend showdown with United, however, which will be a major boost following the loss of Ramiro Funes Mori to suspension.

The centre-back was shown a red card in the heavy defeat to Liverpool in midweek, but Martinez insists that he will not be taking any further action against his player.

"No, I have had a conversation with Ramiro. With the proximity of the semi-final, the preparation has been about the next game," he told reporters. "We've moved on from it. It's very much about moving quickly, the next game is too close to dwell on that."

Everton head to Wembley on the back of a run of six games without a win in the top flight, leaving their season on the brink of tatters.
