Roy Hodgson: "England will get stronger"

England boss Roy Hodgson believes that England will get stronger following their qualification for next year's World Cup in Brazil.

England boss Roy Hodgson believes that his team will get stronger in the run-up to next year's World Cup in Brazil, after England beat Poland to secure qualification for the tournament.

Hodgson's side were tasked with a tricky group, with games against the likes of Ukraine, Montenegro and Poland, but gained progress without conceding defeat.

"It was a tough group. There were a lot of tough games for us with Ukraine, Poland and Montenegro," Hodgson said, according to The Metro.

"I'm delighted for the players, I thought they played some sensational football in the first half and in the second we dug in well and worked very hard to control Poland.

"We've been getting better all the time. We've been working together for 18 months. I think the quality of our football has changed a lot and I'd like to think over the coming months we'll get stronger still."

England secured qualification with a 2-0 victory over Poland at Wembley, thanks to goals from Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard.
