England boss Gareth Southgate will hold talks with the FA over his future after his team's World Cup 2022 qualifying campaign, according to a report.

England boss Gareth Southgate will reportedly hold talks with the FA over his future once his team's World Cup 2022 qualifying campaign has concluded in November.

Southgate, who has led the Three Lions to a World Cup semi-final and European Championship final during his time at the helm, will be out of contract at the end of the 2022 World Cup.

According to Sky Sports News, the FA are keen for the 51-year-old to pen a new deal that would run until at least 2024, allowing him to lead the nation into the next European Championship.

The report claims that Southgate will officially sit down and hold contract discussions once England's current qualifying campaign for next year's tournament has finished.

Southgate is believed to be keen to return to club management at some stage in the future, which will have a direct impact on whether he remains with the national team.

England - top of Group I with five wins from five matches - will finish their World Cup qualifying campaign away to San Marino on November 15.
