Barry Robson scores twice as Middlesbrough come from behind to beat Doncaster 3-1 at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Middlesbrough kept pace with the leaders of the Championship after coming from behind to beat Doncaster 3-1 tonight.

Scotland international Barry Robson netted a brace for Boro, who maintained the six-point gap between them and table-toppers Southampton with victory at the Keepmoat.

Billy Sharp, who made the brave decision to play in the fixture despite the death of his newly-born son just two days ago, opened the scoring for the home side.

The 25-year-old striker gave Donny the lead with a stunning volley after he was set up by debutante El Hadji Diouf.

Sharp then pointed to the sky, dedicating the goal to his late son.

Robson scored his first of the night to level proceedings, winning the ball in midfield before carrying it forward and shooting past Neil Sullivan.

Prolific striker Marvin Emnes then put Boro ahead on the stroke of half time, converting Faris Haroun's cross from the right-hand side.

Former Celtic midfielder Robson then wrapped up the points for Boro, scoring his second of the night from the penalty spot after Shelton Martis clumsily upended Boro full-back Tony McMahon.
