Derby County have stretched their unbeaten run to 10 games with a narrow 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers at the iPro Stadium this evening.
Derby were rocked by an injury to Craig Forsyth in the early stages and were unable to register a shot of note until the 23rd minute, when Johnny Russell saw his long-range shot deflected behind for a corner.
QPR could only clear the resulting set piece as far as Jacob Butterfield, who swung a 20-yard effort narrowly wide of the upright.
Derby had a couple more chances before the break, but Andreas Weimann fired at Rob Green and then Chris Martin glanced a header wide of the far post.
Although Derby were held at bay by QPR during the first half, the hosts broke the deadlock seven minutes after the break as Weimann thundered a powerful strike past Green from Richard Keogh's knockdown.
Charlie Austin almost hit back immediately on his first start for more than a month, but he dragged his shot wide of the far post.
Butterfield came close for the second time in the 55th minute, but Green was equal to his snapshot.
QPR struggled to break down Derby as the second half wore on and saw a penalty appeal turned down after Junior Hoilett tumbled under pressure from Scott Carson.
The visitors ended the game with 10 men as James Perch was shown a second yellow card in the final minute to cap off a miserable night for Chris Ramsey's side.
